Program Description

This course introduces the concepts of ecology, including the diversity of life of plants, animals, and the interactions with their environment. Students will have access to a variety of life-zones on both the Atlantic and Pacific slopes of Costa Rica, which will highlight ecological differences between them. The program will visit sustainable ecotourism lodges, field stations and coffee farms, studying the strategies used to reduce environmental impact.
