Program Description

This program will provide an immersive, global learning environment for students from all majors the opportunity to develop an understanding of anthropology to reflect on how personal and social values are shaped by culture. This two-week program will introduce students to Irish culture and history as well as Irish folklore and folk medicine through structured interactions with local community members.

Students will fly into Dublin and spend two nights during the orientation period. Following this, students will be transported to Cork, where the majority of the program will be spent. There will also be a three-night stay in the harbor town of Cobh.

  • Walking the land and collecting plants with an Irish herbalist
  • Day-trip to Killarney National Park
  • The Friary Well and the Trinity Well in Kinsale
  • Drombeg Stone Circle and Fulacht Fiadh in Drombeg
  • Exploring Tara, Knowth, Dowth, and Newgrange
